These freely roaming warm blooded vertebrates are trustworthy companions of humans who have served them since the Palaeolithic era; well before there were any agricultural activities. Dogs are indeed the first domesticated animals that humans tethered their bond with.
Freely roaming mutts are wonderful stress and mood regulators. These species help in releasing endorphins and oxytocin, leading to ebbing of human cortisol levels and as the result the general well-being is ameliorated.
