Black Kite bearing the zoological name – (Milvus migrans), a mid-sized raptor with dark brown to light brown feathers and marginally forked tail pattern are opportunity seekers and love to feed on animals small in size.
These bird species also sometimes act as scavengers feeding on the carcasses.
The Black Kite perched on a tree branch is calculating the direction of his flight to get close to his prey, which will make a good hunt. The bird is a serious opportunity seeker and will not take the flight until he is not sure of the visibility of his prey. These preys can be small sized fishes and anything and everything that has become dead.
Often referred to as black hawk, the region around the base of the beak is yellow, while the beak in itself is strong, sharp and hooked used for tearing the flesh apart. Black Kite makes a gracious flight and the bird species is seen gliding on the skylines of the cities and field areas where the probability of hunting the preys is enormous.
